Hi @ubert,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand that the numeric keypad on your new keyboard for your HP All-in-One (SCAS1986213) is not working, even though it was received today. Let’s go through some steps to troubleshoot this.

Check Num Lock Key:

Ensure the Num Lock key is turned on. Some keyboards disable the numeric keypad if Num Lock is off.

Test the Keyboard on Another Device:

If possible, connect the keyboard to another computer to see if the numeric keypad works.

This helps determine if the issue is with the keyboard or the All-in-One.

Check Keyboard Connection:

If it’s a wired keyboard, make sure it is securely plugged into the USB port.

If it’s wireless, ensure it’s properly paired or has fresh batteries.

Update Keyboard Drivers:

Go to Device Manager → Keyboards → Update driver.

Alternatively, check the HP Support site for the latest keyboard or chipset drivers for your All-in-One.

Test in BIOS or Another App:

Restart the computer and try entering numbers in the BIOS menu or another application to see if the numeric keypad responds.

If it works outside Windows, the issue may be software-related.

Perform a Keyboard Reset (if applicable):

Some HP keyboards allow a reset by disconnecting, holding a key (like Esc or Fn), and reconnecting. Check your keyboard manual.

I hope this helps.
