@Temujiin,

An outstanding question!

Let's dive into this without passion or prejudice.

What the evidence says about “officialhponlinestore” (eBay UK):

What I found:

So, while there are signs that the seller is aiming to appear official (branding, product descriptions), I could not, definitively, confirm with certainty that it’s an “official HP” store.

How you can check whether a seller is truly official / authorized:

When you see “official” claims, here are steps to verify:

  1. Check for “eBay Verified Store / Brand Store” status
eBay sometimes marks certain stores as “Verified” or “Official” for brand authorization. Look for those badges.

  2. Cross-check with HP’s authorized sellers list
On HP’s official UK site, there may be a list of authorized retailers or partners. If “officialhponlinestore” appears there, it’s a strong sign.

  3. Inspect product descriptions & warranty claims

    • Does the listing say: “sold by HP” or “from HP UK”?

    • Is an HP manufacturer warranty included (not a “seller warranty” only)?

    • Are there references to HP Care Packs or official HP support?

  4. Ask the seller directly
Contact them via eBay’s messaging interface and request proof of being an HP authorized seller (e.g. certificate, reseller agreement).

  5. Check the feedback comments
I read buyer reviews, especially negative ones. Sometimes issues about warranty, authenticity, or support will surface there. The store has many more feedback of “excellent communication” etc.  As a matter of fact, the track record of this Seller is actually quite impressive.  Consider: Seller Feedback: 42,627 and a very impressive 98.8% positive feedback rating.  Meaning -at least in my professional opinion, this is almost certainly a legit and bona fide company. See: https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/officialhponlinestore?_tab=feedback.

  6. Payment & return safeguards
Even if the seller is not officially HP, using eBay’s UK Buyer Protection ("eBay Money Back Guarantee") and paying via secure methods helps mitigate risk.

    Last but not Least:

eBay UK Buyer Protection / eBay Trust & Safety:

Whilst eBay is not a UK government agency, eBay has a (very) strong buyer protection program:

Hope this was helpful.

All good, laptop arrived on promised day via the best ( in my opinion ) courier service of DPD, all set up with all bloatware and analytics removed apart from Support Assistant which will provide for any driver updates as i am always at least 1 month behind with Windows Updates via "InControl".

It is blazingly fast and i am a very satisfied customer having saved £200 by using Ebay online store hpstoreuk and will not hesitate to use them again.

Just to add that i am in no way connected to hpstoreuk.
