Microsoft Windows 11

purchased laptop 2023 a couple of weeks ago power connector does not charge battery.  Tried it on another laptop and didn't work there either.  I used a different power connector on laptop and battery gets charged while I am using computer so no problem. do I have a faulty power connector? can't believe after 1 1/2 years this would happen.  any suggestions on what to do? or do I need to spend $$ and buy a new one?

These things happen.

Do you have a warranty?  You mentioned a few weeks ago but then mentioned 1.5 years.

If you did not register your product with HP when you bought it then the warranty you are seeing is based on date of manufacture, not date of purchase. You can update the warranty status by contacting HP and providing a proof of purchase.

If you purchased a used or refurbished system you need to check with the vendor (which could be HP).

This link shows how to get warranty information.

To contact an agent:
your support page
Select the product you need help with and scroll down to support options.
Select "Contact us". You can change country and language if necessary.

---to find the exact part number of the charger---

Go to the below site and enter your serial number. Look for the part you need and make a note of the HP part number
https://partsurfer.hp.com/

Use the HP part number to search for a vendor. HP has an official parts store but be sure to look elsewhere.
If your location is Asia be sure to include Aliexpress in your browser search in addition to amazon and ebay.
