@farida3, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP laptop powers on and the fan runs, but there's no display on the screen or through HDMI, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Power Cycle

  1. Turn off your laptop completely by pressing the power button.
  2. Disconnect all external devices such as USB drives or external keyboards.
  3. Remove the battery if it's removable.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  5. Reconnect the battery (if removed) and try starting your laptop again.

Connect to an External Monitor

  • If you have not already tried, connect your laptop to an external monitor or a television using the HDMI port. If the external display works, it could indicate an issue with your laptop's display or the connection to it.

Reseat the RAM

  • Power off the laptop, remove the battery (if applicable), and reseat the RAM modules. Sometimes loose RAM can cause display issues.

Safe Mode or BIOS Access

  • Try booting in Safe Mode. Press the power button, and as soon as it starts, repeatedly press the F8 key. If you can access Safe Mode, it could be an issue with a driver or the Operating System.
  • Try accessing the BIOS/UEFI settings. Power on and immediately press ESC, F10, or DEL depending on your HP laptop model to enter BIOS. If the BIOS screen appears, your hardware is likely functioning correctly, and the issue might be OS related.

Perform a BIOS Recovery

  • HP laptops have the capability to automatically recover BIOS. Turn off the laptop, press the power button while holding down the Windows and B keys to see if it automatically recovers the BIOS.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
