You're very welcome.

I understood you completely.

What I'm writing is what you want does not exist.

If you run the file on another PC, it will not open to create a USB BIOS recovery drive like the some of the other BIOS files do as is shown in this video.

Updating the BIOS on HP Consumer Desktops outside of Windows 11| HP Computers| HP Support

After you run the file I posted, it will unpack to C:\SWSetup\sp76898 and that is all it does.

You can see the BIOS.BIN file and other files, but what to do with those files, I have no idea because the file is supposed to automatically update the BIOS on the PC that you want to update in Windows only.

So, if you are an expert in how to work with those files you should be able to recover the BIOS.

According to the information I can find online, your PC has a Memphis-S motherboard with SSID: 2AF7

I could not find BIOS version 80.20 but I was able to find a newer version -- 80.23 for that SSID:

Below are the info and exe file links to that BIOS file:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp76501-77000/sp76898.html

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp76501-77000/sp76898.exe

You can only run this update in Windows.

Thanks for the information, but I didn't explain myself well... the desktop won't boot, and I can't log in to Windows 10. I can access the BIOS using the keyboard, but some pages are corrupted. I'd like to access it via USB drivers with a working BIOS to overwrite the motherboard BIOS. My specific question is: 1) Where can I find BIOS 80.20 (or later)? 2) How can I force it on the motherboard? Thanks.
