Hi @DollyWare,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your wireless mouse is not consistently connecting to your computer. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

    a. Check Batteries / Power
        • Make sure the mouse has fresh batteries or a full charge if rechargeable.
        • Some mice have a power switch—ensure it is turned on.

    b. Verify Wireless Receiver / Dongle
        • Ensure the USB receiver is firmly plugged into a working USB port.
        • If possible, try a different USB port on your computer.

    c. Re-Pair the Mouse
        • For mice with a pairing button, press it to enter pairing mode.
        • On your PC, go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Add Device and select the mouse to pair.
        • If the mouse is RF (USB dongle) type, unplug and re-insert the dongle, then press the mouse’s connect button.

    d. Check for Interference
        • Remove other wireless devices near the mouse that might interfere (Wi-Fi routers, phones, other wireless peripherals).
        • Keep the mouse within 1–2 meters of the receiver.

    e. Update / Reinstall Drivers
        • Go to Device Manager > Mice and Other Pointing Devices.
        • Right-click the mouse and select Update Driver.
        • If that doesn’t help, uninstall the mouse driver and restart the computer to reinstall it automatically.

I hope this helps.
