Hi @jgor55, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Optimizing" message on the HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-in-One Printer followed by a print failure could indicate a firmware issue, a printhead alignment problem, or a connection issue.
Try these steps to resolve it:
Restart and Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Try printing again.

Check for Paper Jams

  • Open the printer and check for any jammed paper.
  • Remove any stuck paper carefully.

Run the Printhead Cleaning

  • Open the HP Smart App or the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Navigate to Printer Maintenance and run Printhead Cleaning.
  • Try printing again.

Reinstall or Update Printer Drivers

  • If you're using Windows, go to Devices and Printers, remove the printer, and reinstall it from HP Smart or the HP website.
  • On Mac, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, remove the printer, and re-add it.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Open the HP Smart App.
  • Go to Advanced Settings > Printer Updates.
  • If an update is available, install it and restart the printer.

Try a Different Connection

  • If connected via Wi-Fi, restart the router and reconnect the printer.
  • If using USB, try a different cable or port.

Factory Reset the Printer

  • Press and hold the Wireless button + Cancel button for 10 seconds.
  • The printer will restart. Set it up again via HP Smart.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
