Hello, I have a HP Slate 17 all-in-one and when powered on, it shows the hp logo and then an error message  -Selected boot image did not authenticate. Press <enter> to continue. I plugged in a logitech keyboard and when I pressed <enter> the machine switched off. I have tried holding the <down arrow> key which I assume is the volume down key  and then power on but I didn't get a reset menu.  Would welcome any help.

Hi! @Scanos, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand you have issues booting into your AIO PC and you are getting an error -Selected boot image did not authenticate.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your tablet?

Please provide the product number of your tablet to assist you better.

As you mentioned you have issues booting into your AIO PC and you are getting an error -Selected boot image did not authenticate.

Try the steps recommended below.

  1. Turn off your device and, if a battery powered device, plug in the AC adapter.
  2. To boot into the Recovery menu, press and hold the volume down key and then press the power button. Hold the volume down key until the HP logo is displayed.
  3. Move the arrow up or arrow down key to highlight wipe data/factory reset, and then press the enter key to confirm the selection.
  4. Move the arrow up or arrow down key to highlight Yes — delete all user data, and then press the enter key to confirm the selection.
  5. Move the arrow up or arrow down key to highlight reboot system now, and then press the enter key to confirm the selection.

Refer this article to know more information about restoring the tablet back to factory settings.

Note: Refer page 35 for more information.

Also, refer this article to further troubleshoot no boot issues with the tablet.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps, it is a hardware issue with your PC.
