Got it. 

 

Delete Slate 21 from devices and let it rescan, that caused it to show up in Other Devices which enabled the Update driver option that I needed

 

Computer Management -> Device Manager -> Portable Devices -> Slate 21

After installing drive ran below commands and the device now shows up in Eclipse -> DDMS view -> Devices

 

android update adb

adb kill-server
adb start-server

hi cowa .. I need your help please .. I literally searched the internet entirely over and over for 3 weeks seeking a solution and especially read and followed this thread step by step to no avail. . my problem is my new Slate21 won't get recognized no matter what I do .. my computer runs on windows 7 64-bit home edition .. I'm using male to male usb cable. . usb debugging switched on on Slate21 device .. no recognition.. when I switch between MTP and PTP modes my pc will indicate the usb connection then but it shows "unknown usb device" .. no matter what i do to this unknown device it won't update its driver .. tried two computers already with same setup and OS with same results. . please help it's so frustrating 😞

Hello my friend,

 

I'm helpping a friend that have a 11 years old children with special needs. The kid use slate 21 to do school tasks and to develop your motor coordination. After the most recent HP update the tablet has bricked and now I'm trying to fix it.

 

My problem is that windows doesn't recognize the slate 21 usb connection. After connect the usb cable, nothing happens, slate 21 doesn't showed in device manager window.

 

I tried your instructions to add manually, but doesn't work.

 

Do you have any idea?
