It’s a Small World After All
HP’s Annual Support Summit is a place where experts, contributors, colleagues and partners gather together to talk about the all things social support. Last year, Liu Chao, the APJ Social Media Operation Lead in Beijing, China, created a plan to ask his girlfriend to marry him and single-handedly redefined the term “social support.”
Chao enlisted the help of 20+ colleagues, many of them new friends, who agreed during a Summit cocktail reception to offer their heartfelt video pleas begging Sophia to marry Chao. Through this collaboration, HP’s incredible international pool of experts joined forces to provide the best sort of social support for one of their own using the universal language of love. In more than a dozen native tongues (including American sign language), the case was made that Sophia would be the perfect match for the love-struck HP expert. This is what he recorded:

So Chao, armed with the video, returned to Beijing, uploaded the video to China’s #1 video channel, Tudou, and invited his girlfriend to view “an interesting video from Summit 2012.” Guess what happened next?
The 2013 HP Social Support Summit will take place in Orlando, FL, March 20-22. Attendees will have the chance to exchange best practices with other top HP Consumer Support Forum participants and there will be opportunities to dive deeper on specific challenges within the social support network. But, seriously, can Social Support get any better than a successful marriage proposal? We can’t wait to see what our attendees come up with next.
