Voyager 4320 M UC USB-A
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Our whole office got new Voyager 4320 headsets for everyone and they have the issue of mute (via button on the boom) not working - it does not mute the microphone - when the headset is connected via Bluetooth (Windows 10 directly, not via the BT700 dongle).

Details:

Headset: V4320, updated to latest firmware with Poly Lens. Software 0.0.2132.3254

Laptop: Dell Precision 7550

Windows 10 Pro  (10.0.19045 Build 19045)

The headset is Bluetooth certified (logo on box) and so we chose to connect to it with Bluetooth on Windows 10 directly (without using the BT700 dongle, in order to save a usb port and for not having to keep up with yet another dongle).

Headset adds fine to Bluetooth devices under Windows 10, the microphone and speakers work fine on a call (e.g. Slack huddle). The microphone test under windows sound settings was also used.

The mute button on the headset does NOT really mute the conversation/microphone.  Pushing the button, a beep is heard as an acknowledgement, but its not muted.  This only happens when Bluetooth is used.

IF the headset is connected via the BT700 dongle then the mute button works and really mutes the mic.

IF the headset is connected over wired USB cable then the mute button also works and really mutes the mic.

But when connected only as a Bluetooth device under Windows, the mute button on the boom does NOT work.

It seems like this would be a bug in the firmware of the headset and hopefully an easy fix.... ?!?

Hello ChrisS-CD, welcome to the HP Poly community.
Please connect the BT700 USB dongle provided with the headset as it enhances the quality of the headset, and all the features work correctly.

Meghana
