Long time Plantronics Voyager user, but I'm not sure what's happening with the good old Voyager 5200, but I'm down to the second one in 3 months time. First one, great sound quality, excellent microphone but the charging case bricked and was useless. Returned, received refund. from the shop. Ok, I purchased another one this week, 30% higher price, started using it today and everyone complained about bad sound quality. I've been testing for a while, and this thing is simply trash.
I use this professionally, and this does not meet the professional expectations (and unfortunately, this isn't valid for just the headset)
With a tear in my eye, I'll return this set again and ask for a refund and it's time to move on to an alternative. I simply can't afford the time and money, and for the price I expect a top quality product.

Hi Salman, I appreciate your response. It's a long reply:
First headset set; Voyager 5200 UC, USB BT700, Charging case.
I purchased this set for my business trips, the headset is protected in the charging case and there's additional battery in the case for recharging and it's UC. This headset's sound quality was excellent, but the charging case lost charge even without headset inserted and after a firmware update, it eventually bricked itself and no charging was possible anymore. The case was useless, and I returned the set to the shop within 6 weeks after purchase. The shop gave a refund instead of the requested replacement, which isn't fair, because the prices went up (+40EUR).
Second headset set; Voyager 5200 UC, USB BT700, Charging case.
Because the sound of the first set was excellent, and the case was practical during a business trip, I decided to spend the extra money and ordered the same set at another shop. After receipt, I first charged both case and headset, happy to see the case stayed charged. Then I connected to my laptop via the BT700 dongle and did some test calls:
- the microphone was distorted (like too high gain), even with reduced microphone volume
- the headset sound was too loud/distorted even when turning volume to minimum
Thus, I updated the firmware of the BT700 and headset to the latest and greatest. The same distortions remained. Made all possible adjustments, sound device settings, sensors off, resets, remove, re-pair, in short everything possible. I also connected to another laptop via a BT600 dongle without result.
Then I decided to do some work calls but immediately received complaints and had to switch headsets. I also noticed the headset sound output was too loud, turning down to minimum muted the sound, first volume up was too loud already.
Thus, both the sound that's too loud and the microphone that is distorted make this headset not usable, and I decided to return this one again. I will receive a refund again.
Now, the result is that I wasted hours testing, problem searching and trying all possible solutions, and 3 months after my first purchase, I've to go back to my phone's earbuds during business trips, but they won't work well with my laptop.
One time a bad product is ok, happens. Two times and I'm questioning the quality of production an make me hesitate to do the same purchase again. Thus, what would you suggest?
best regards,
Jay

Thank you for posting your query.
It seems like you have tried almost all the troubleshooting, and it looks like the headset is faulty. I would request that you contact HP Support to get the headset replaced if it is under warranty, and our support engineers should be able to sort this out.
