Voyager 5200 UC USB-A
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Got a 5200 from work today. Plugged it in the first time to charger and everything updated.

took it home with me and plugged it in again, the case no longer shows up in Poly desktop app. The laptop chimes that something is plugged in but app doesn’t show anything is connected.

i did allow the connection of the usb slot the first time.

no lights come on for the case now but the 5200 earpiece still works and charges. Its just the box.

anyway to hard reset the case?

Hi @P41n, Welcome to Poly HP Support Community.

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re experiencing with your Voyager 5200 case. I completely understand how important it is to have your device functioning smoothly. To help resolve this, I’d like to guide you through a few troubleshooting steps.

  1. Firmware Update: Please ensure that both the headset and charging case have the latest firmware. You can do this by using the Poly Lens application on your PC.
  2. Charging Check: Confirm that the case is fully charged. If it isn’t, please try using a different charging cable or adapter to charge the case.
  3. Reset: Kindly reset both the headset and charging case, and then test the functionality again.
  4. Test on a Different PC: If possible, please test the case on a different PC to see if the issue persists.

If the issue still persists, I would request you contact our HP Support, and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link.

It must be the update. My case was working fine until about 10 days ago. Now, no longer recognized.

That is just it, the case is no longer recognized. It shows in the Poly Lens app as being disconnected. Your firmware update messed something up.

This Solution for me:

To reset a Plantronics Voyager 5200 charge case, simply unplug the charging cable, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in; this essentially "wakes up" the case and should resolve most issues with charging or not recognizing the headset.
Key points to remember:
Power cycle:
Unplug the charging cable completely for a brief period before plugging it back in.

Check connections:
Ensure the headset is properly seated in the charging cradle within the case.

Clean the contacts:
If necessary, clean the charging contacts on both the headset and the case with a soft cloth to remove any dirt or debris.
