Equipment that I have:

Elitebook  x360 1040 G7

Thunderbolt G2 Dock

DP to DP cables

USB C to USB C cables

Solved: 2 x 4K Monitor @ 60 Hz with Thunderbolt Dock G2 Output - HP Support Community - 7026313

I've read through this thread and still cannot figure out why I cannot get 4k on the 2nd monitor.  I have 1 DP to DP cable hooked to monitor 1, then a USB C to USB C cable hooked from the DP USB C port on the dock to the 2nd monitor.  This should work.  Why would I need a USB C to HDMI adaptor, like the thread says?   Updated Dock firmware already.

Using the doc posted above, if you have a monitor with Thunderbolt/USB C port for video, then the solution is:

1st monitor: DP cable from Thunderbolt G2 dock to DP on monitor

2nd monitor: USB C Gen 2 cable that supports 4k@60 from Thunderbolt  G2 dock USB C port (make sure its the port on the right side looking at the rear) to monitor USB C video input.
