EliteBook 8560W
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Good morning,
reading the technical specifications of my 8560w Quadro 2000M, I noticed that the display port supports resolutions up to 2560x1600 @ 60Hz.
Would someone confirm that I can connect, to a display port, a Del U2515H monitor and use it to the maximum resolution of 2560x1440?
Thank you.

I am using exactly this combination - yes, it works fine both via the advanced dock and also via the displayport on the left of the laptop. It's DP 1.1 so it won't do 4k. the 8570w does, fyi.

According to the quick spec for 8560w found here, on page 7 it is mentioned that the 8560w notebook supports resolutions up to 2560 x 1600, 30-bit color depth at 60 Hz, meaning that your Dell monitor should be supported, since it's optimal resolution is 2560 x 1440 @60Hz,  which is below 2560x1600.

I work for HP.

Thanks,

what's your advanced dock? Can you tell me the p/n?

So, 8560W has a DP 1.1 no-4k port, 8570W has a DP 1.2 4k port ... Is it right?

The 8560w advanced dock is pn A7E38UT

THe DP 1.2 + USB3 dock for the 8507w is A7E38AA - neither the USB3 nor the DP 1.2 work in this from the 8560w because it does not support this to the dock.

  "So, 8560W has a DP 1.1 no-4k port, 8570W has a DP 1.2 4k port ... Is it right?"

Correct. But the 8560w will support 2560x1440 via Displayport (not via DVI). The 8570w will drive a 4k monitor via the displayport on the laptop or the A7E38AA  dock. I have both of these setups.

Thanks,
on the Italian website of HP, I have found this document which shows the following information (8560w+A7E38UT):
"A notebook or a panel screen connected to a port replicator 2012 may encounter a USB speed and slower DisplayPort than expected. Although the replicators HP 2012 ports are fully compatible with the standard USB 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.2, the connected devices may only use the USB 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.1, including the speed of transmission. "
You can confirm that the speed of the USB 3.0 port replicator is actually 3.0 and not 2.0?

The later model advanced dock (A7E38AA) has USB3 + DP 1.2 and they work as USB3  + DP 1.2with the 8570w - they only work as USB2 + DP 1.1 with the 8560w because the docking connector on the laptop only carries USB2 + DP 1.1.

The earlier dock (A7E38UT) is USB2 + DP 1.1 only.

Thank you,

I appreciate your kindness and I'll congratulate you for the amount of information you have.

Can I ask you two other things?

If I connect the laptop to the docking, can I still use the usb3.0 ports on the notebook?

Can you give me some informations about the economic docking A7E32AA?

Thanks again.

Yes, all the ports still work.
