HP Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

for the HP elitebook the power adapter specifications that it can use are the following:

The computer can operate on DC power within the following specifications. Input Power

Rating

Operating voltage and current

19.5 V dc @ 2.31 A – 45 W

19.5 V dc @ 3.33 A – 65 W

I understand that leaving plugged in continually is not good for battery life, however is using the 65 watt vs the 45 watt any more detrimental?

Hi:

It won't matter what adapter you use.

Things have changed regarding battery performance...they no longer tell you to run the notebook without the battery if it is constantly running on A/C power, or to disconnect the AC power, and run the notebook off the battery every two weeks until the low battery warning comes on, and then reattach the adapter.
