Dear all

I am completly baffled. The person(s) who wrote this piece of garbage must be mentally deranged. I am apalled that HP distributes such a thing.

After changing the Windows system name (by mistake, I was aiming at changing the system name of a VM and typed on the host screen, so I had to change it back) all user/password fields in HP Client Security records were cleared.

The records still exist, and they show in the Password Manager. Only the password field is cleared.

The boot powerup password-protected fingerprint is not recognised, but the fingerprints are still there, because when I try to enroll the same fingers, haf-way in the process (i.e., after swiping 2 or 3 times) I get a message saying that the finger has already been enrolled.

If there´s a way out of this, other than enrolling again dozens of passwords, I would like to hear. I have just bought the laptop and spent a huge amount of time transfering my credentials fro Password Suite (on the Vaio). No backup, helas, as the process was not yet finished.

If there is no solution, other than writing down the **bleep** things again, at least with this post there's a chance others won´t suffer the same. I am quite happy with the laptop!

As there's not the slightest hint about this in the 66 page user guide, I'll try to fill a formal complaint to HP. Any help where/how I should do so?

Best regards
