I have a HP ProBook 635 G8 laptop with the latest BIOS (T83 01.11.00)

I had installed the HP Power Manager to limit the maximum battery charged.

That worked fine and it limited the charging level to around 80%.

Occasionally, I need to travel with my laptop, so I need the charge my battery to 100%.

How can I do that?

I uninstalled Power Manager and rebooted.

Then I went into the BIOS and ensured that the power control option is NOT selected.

According to this:

https://support.hp.com/nz-en/document/ish_5180936-5180983-16

"If you uninstall HP Power Manager, the current settings are preserved and controlled by the BIOS."

Unfortunately, the laptop is now stuck at 60% charge (even though Windows reports 100%).

In the BIOS, I can only see two settings:

(1) Maximize My Battery Health

(2) Let HP Manage My Battery Charging

According to this:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_5084029-5084079-16

There should be an option called "Maximize My Battery Duration", but that does not appear on my laptop.

I'm now stuck with a battery that will not charge beyond 60% which means I cannot use it for any extended periods away from my desk.

Can someone help?

Thanks

If anyone else has the same problem, the solution is to reset the BIOS settings.
