I received an email that my 450 G2; Win 10; I-7 5500 needed to have the bios updated. I am currently on bios 1.51, May 2019. I downloaded the file for bios 1.53 rev.A. It went through the update protocol, including the restart, but did not install. Do I need this revision for security purposes? If so, how should I install it? Thanks.

It is purely a security update for multiple issues.

I have two 450 G2's in the office, both upgraded to Windows 10.  One had a BIOS version of 1.52, and updated to 1.53 with no issues.  The 2nd has a much older 1.15 BIOS.  I can't get it to upgrade to any higher BIOS revision even 1.16 via the in-place within Windows method.  Have to hunt down a spare flash drive to try the USB key method.

Try a step upgrade to BIOS 1.52 first and see if that works, then try 1.53.

Otherwise, go the USB key route.
