Broken hinge in HP ENVY 13 Laptop

Just after 13 months of buying my new HP Envy and spending 1400£ for it, the right hinge broke. There were no falls/accidents. This laptop is my work equipment. Warranty expired a month ago. Not that it would have made a difference, as from what I see hinges replacement is not covered. I am very very frustrated at this and I am wondering whether if I leave it as it is will lead to further damage to my laptop. I will think again before buying an HP next time!
