HP Elitebook x360

Anyone figure out how or whether I can connect my HP Elitebook x360 to my first generation Apple Thunderbolt display?  The HP Elitebook has an HDMI port and I'm wondering if I can connect it to the TB display via an HDMI - thunderbolt cable.

@REHBethesda

I can say 99% is NO as mentioned

Apple Thunderbolt Displays, like the video input on Thunderbolt iMacs, drop compatibility with all previous standards, including VGA, DVI, and DisplayPort.[6] They are not compatible with computers that do not have a Thunderbolt port, including pre-2011 Macs and the vast majority of desktop PCs.

Thank you, Banhien.  So if my HP PC has a USB Type-C Thunderbolt supported port I can't connect with a Thunderbolt 3 to 2 connector, as I could if I were upgrading my MacBook?

Hello

which Elite X360 model do you have ? almost all of them have DP video signal on Thunderbolt port (USB-C) . so for me the display should work.

It's an EliteBook x360 1030 G2.

So, did you try to connect our apple display to USB-C port of X360 1030 G2 ?

bye

Not yet, because I need a two-way USB-C to Microport cable.
