Hi, my Probook 630 G8 is stuck in a boot loop after I had used the hibernate option to shut it down (I use that a lot). I had not been doing any updates, just writing and surfing. When i re-booted an hour later, the laptop was stuck in a boot loop. The I/O button lit up, F5 and F8 lit up (orange color), shortly after the keyboard lights went on. After 8-10 seconds the HP logo and "wolf security" logos appeared for 2 seconds, and then the laptop shut down again, must to repeat this cycle. This "boot-until-HP-logo-and-shut-down-boot-again-to-HP-logo-shut-down...." repeats forever, it can be stopped by pressing the I/O button for 2-3 sec. while it's in th boot-up part.
Pressing F10 or ESC during boot cycle displays a messagen "entering into BIOS...", but this never happens, the laptop shuts down before it can get into BIOS.
I already removed the system SSD completely, used another SSD (the original that was replaced by a larger one after purchase), it made no difference, still bootlooping.
There are 2 RAM stick, I removed each one and tested with only one RAM, in both slots, same result. I cannot test the RAM in another PC, but it's not very likely that two RAM go bad at a time.
Then I tried all options from the HP website (CMOS reset, CE reset, BIOs repair using WIN+B, WIN+V keys, nothing worked. I also tried to hold down several keys during startup (I/O + ESC, I/O+F6, I/O+F7, I/O+Shift, I/O+DEL), nothing worked.
Booting from a USB flash drive is not possible either, it's not recognized.
Would anybody know a different reset procedure? I find it hard to believe that the mainboard of a 2-year-old notebook from a business series should be broken .... but this is the only explanation I can find.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hello.
To answer your question: Yes. Any computer device can produce defects at any time after leaving the factory. If (electrical) devices could only be made error proof - impossible.
I commend on your troubleshooting - it has been quite extensive. This very much sounds like a bad system board, perhaps with bad data in the BIOS chip, but could be a million other things.
Check your warranty first. HP laptops are sold with 1-3 year warranties. Even if your warranty has lapsed, depending on your local consumer protections laws (EU) you can still actually demand it fixed free of charge (or with a discount) since life expectancy for a laptop is more than 2 years and you have not obviously dropped it or anything. If however you are a business customer, then consumer protection laws do not apply.

Unfortunately, I bought this laptop used and do not have the original invoice.
But I talked to HP support in the meantime, they were nice and did a couple of tests over the phone at no charge; basically the same test I had already done with identical results. HP also said the mainboard must be defective, they would repair it (on site) for ca. 650 €.
I then decided to do the repair myself, buying a mainboard was less than half this price. With the new mainboard installed, the notebook is working like before.
Nevertheless, I was an unpleasant surprise that this mainboard died only after 2 years.... while my 12-year-old Thinkpad still runs with the original board. Well, hopefully, this one now lasts...
