I have a Thunderbolt G2 docking station at home that will not connect to my laptop, HP Notebook 15-dy1051wm. I downloaded the driver for it, but could not get it to work. Upon deeper investigation I discovered that my laptop will not support that particular docking station. I have since tried several other docking stations that plug into my USB C port with no success. Is there anything that you could recommend to help mitigate this. I need to connect 3 monitors for work.
I have also had other people suggest that I buy a new laptop, but this one here is still operating great so I see no need to trash it. Thanks.

The specs of your machine is : https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06463306
Firstly : It is NOT compatible with your Thunderbolt G2 docking station, all Thunderbolt docking stations.
Secondary: No USB-C dock to work on your machine to get video out.
It ONLY has 1 hopeless USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
