HP Elitebook 850 g3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I have a HP Elitebook 850 G3.

The Device has a USB-C (standard) port that is not used for charging.

I would like to use this port with a USB-C HUB to connect externally a monitor, USB, audio & ethernet.

(Example of such a device: https://www.amazon.de/FLYLAND-Ethernet-Kartenleser-kompatibel-MacBookPro-Grau/dp/B07VFMVHSS/ref=sr_1...)

The problem is, that the device needs a USB-C power connection, so that all the connection can work.
But if I foresee such a powersupply and connect the HUB to my USB-C connection on the laptop, it will recieve power over this port.

Will this damage the port, or does this has no effect to the USB-C port on my device and can I make use of the HUB's functionalities?

Thanks for the info!
