Hello forum
I have my notebook HP ZBook 17 G3 i7-6820HQ most of the time on AC power and from experience I know that this damages the battery. With the previous ProBook I could take the battery out and only plug it in when I went out.
With the HP ZBook 17 G3 i7-6820HQ this is not very feasible and I wonder if there is a circuit that interrupts the battery when it is plugged in?
Or would it make sense to install a small switch with which I could deactivate the battery to save it?
Thanks for your answers

Hey beetnick66!
HP has already provided a solution to this problem (for business laptops that have internal batteries) with the 2018 "battery manager" BIOS level settings. Read these two official HP documents and you'll see what I mean:
HP Introduces Battery Health Manager 02-Nov-2018
Using HP Battery Health Manager
For your laptop, and according to the TABLE in the first document, you have to have (at least) BIOS VERSION: 01.40 May 14, 2019.
