Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After years of happy usage of the HP laptop, which apart from failing battery seems indestructible, I decided to buy a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. Reason is that in times where we work more and more from home and I want to connect the laptop to the TV.

However no matter what I try I can't manage to get the TV working. The laptop does not recognise the second display in any way, I would really like to have some advise. I tried looking for updates all drivers seem to be up to date.

I if click on detect display nothing happens. I tried using another HDMI cable, no succes. I have not tried connecting the laptop to another tv yet but will give it a go in the near future. Any help? Or is the laptop just too old? Would be a pitty.
