Disputing the warranty dates

HP Recommended
Elitebook 745 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good day,

Like so many on these forums, I have been unable to correct my warranty details with HP. Using the HP Support Assistant software, I was directed to a manual warranty check on the HP Support website, but the option to dispute the warranty wasn't (isn't?) there.

I purchased my notebook computer from an online retailer about a month ago and I should have a 3 year warranty, but unfortunately HP Support Assistant indicates that the warranty started in 2016 - a year before I had even laid eyes on this computer. I wish to correct this, and I have all the documentary evidence at hand. I just need some way to send it to the kind folks at HP.

No issue with the hardware itself.
