I have an HP Elitebook laptop connected to an HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 via the provided hardwired USB-C/Thunderbolt cable on dock front. With this arrangement, my peripherals (monitor, keyboard, headphones) are connected to the dock and functional with the laptop. However, the hardwired cable is too short for where I would like to locate the laptop compared to the dock.

Question: is it possible to use another port (USB-C, Thunderbolt) and cable to connect the laptop to dock while maintaining functionality of laptop with peripherals and power to the laptop?
