Hello everyone! Quick question that I can't find a direct answer to. Does the USB c port in the 850 g5 support alt mode? Basically I need a portable monitor and found one powered by USB c. Just wanted to confirm if the port will work in alt mode to actually show the display correctly.

The USB-C Gen 5 (5TW10AA) docking station is compatible with HP Elitebook 850 G5 machines, also with Elitebook 840 G5 machines.

 

I'm using it right now for my Elitebook 840 G5.

 

To directly answer your question: Yes
