The Elitebook 865 G9 comes with a PCIE NVME m.2 slot with a 256GB, 512GB or 1TB SSD already installed.
I need to know if an m.2 SATA3 SSD can be added for additional storage, which would require an m.2 SATA slot!
The specifications on the Maintenance and Service Guide show a SATA3 SSD as being a height of 1.35mm. https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_5997356_en-US-1.pdf#page=103
But in the Illustrated Parts Catalog, no SATA SSD is listed. Now I'm confused. That discrepancy could be because it doesn't come with a SATA SSD normally, or it could be that it doesn't support SATA at all. Who knows.

Hi:
Looking at chapters, 1, 3 and 5 of the service manual, there is no support for any type of SATA drive.
Only NVMe SSD's are supported in the model series and there is only one M.2 slot available which would be occupied by the drive it came with.
There are no SATA drives listed as available spare parts, no SATA drive cable to connect to the motherboard, and no removal or replacement procedure for a 2.5" or M.2 SATA drive.
