Hi, I wold like to report a balck dot on my screen, been there for a while then diappeared the past three days. Please note that this is a new first hand laptop.

Also I noticed there is no audio coming from the display when connecting to the laptop via HDMI, any thoughts?

Hi.

Some dead pixels can be fixed or they can autofix themselves during usage. If it is working now, I wouldn't worry about it.

Make sure your audio output is selected accordingly in Windows, and that audio output level is not zero or muted.

Make sure your external monitor actually has audio speakers, and the audio level in monitor settings is not zero or muted.

Not all displays can process advanced audio codecs. Try outputting something simple like a Youtube video.

Try another external monitor or a TV set and also another HDMI cable to isolate a problematic component.

Update the Graphics drivers in your laptop.

My advice is quite generic since you didn't specify your computer or the display models.
