I want to upgrade  from an installed 256 gb ssd card drive to a 500 gb  ssd card drive.  I am concerned because the ssd card in it has 2 notches on it.  One I have found is from Crucial.  They guarantee it will work but it only has 1 notch.  Is this ok?

See pictures.

Do you think the 1 notch will work?  Is Crucial a good maker?  I notice the one in it seems to be Samsung.  Are they better.

Let me know and thanks!

Mike

That is Crucial P2 series, it is a popular M.2 NVMe SSD source for your machine. Same as Samsung 970EVO series.

Normal standard M.2 NVMe SSD should work.
