Elite book 845 g7

I need serious help. I put the laptop in sleep mode this morning and stuck it in a backpack to go to the office. When I arrived and took it out of the backpack, one of the fans was running and the led light on the power button is slowly blinking. Nothing I do will make it go through its boot sequence and turn on. I cannot completely power it off either by “choking” it. Can someone please help?

@Dave_Spot -- does CTRL-ALT-DELETE "wake" the computer?

Can you remove the battery? Doing so will power-off your computer.

Hold-down the ON/OFF button for 30 seconds -- that should (forcibly) power-off the computer.
