I am trying to use my Laptop HP to connect to a Thunderbolt display 27" screen, I purchase a USB Type c (compatible with Thunderbolt 3 Protocol on Mac) connector to Mini display port,  I tested on a MacMini and the adapter works fine, but, on my HP, does not turn on the display and does not recognice it, I tried to look for drivers or any SW that can do the trick, but I did not find nothing, Thanks for any feedback on this matter

Machine should have following ports

(1) USB Type-C (Alt Mode)
(1) USB 3.1 Gen 1
(1) USB Type-C (Charging)
(1) HDMI 2.0
(1) VGA port
(1) RJ-45/Ethernet port
(1) Headphone/microphone combo jack
(1) AC power port

You can only connect  USB Type-C (Alt Mode) to a monitor. It is the port on the right side, next to the power connector port.

Your monitor has Thunderbolt port, have you try direct thunderbolt cable from computer to monitor. Do not use middle man
