HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

by reading the specification of this 830 G7 laptop, the 2 USB-C ports should support thunderbolt.

(2) USB 3.1 Type-C port with Thunderbolt support

However, when connecting this laptop to the LG display via thunderbolt cable, I got nothing - no display output nor charging.

The same LG display and same thunderbolt cable work perfectly on MacBook Pro and Dell Latitude Laptop, 4K display and power charging.

My current workaround is using USB-C (not thunderbolt cable) cable to connect this laptop to the LG display, 4K video output works there, just no power charging.

So, does this laptop really support display and charging over thunderbolt? Do I need to update BIOS or driver something?
