Elitebook 840 G6

I have an Elitebook G6 with an i5-8265U CPU. My problem is that the system is running very slow, even after a fresh reinstall. I have run Cinebench and compared the results with a Probook 440 G5 G6 with the same CPU, that shows 50% higher results in Cinebench.

I have installed Intel XTU to check the cpu power limits and run a few benchmarks. The CPU power settings are the same on the Elitebook and Probook, yet the performance is very different.

Heres a screenshot from XTU https://imgur.com/a/orRxaHE

CPU temp is normal, the CPU is idling, yet there seems to be an almost continuos PL throttling for an unknown reason.

Any idea what is causing the problem?

cinebench is very graphics intensive benchmark... did you try updating the BIOS and drivers? try using HP Image Assistant... in addition, you would need to compare the graphics between the 2 laptops... does the 440 g5 have a discrete graphics card? do they both have the same amount of RAM? having less RAM would make the application be swapping to the disk more using virtual disk space...

I work for HP. However, all opinions and comments are my own.

they have the exact same config. also using both computers feels entirely different. the probook boots in a breeze, the elitebook takes like 5x longer. a simple task on the probook like scrolling trough an excel with a few thousand lines feels extremely choppy.

also, the probook is a g6, not 5 as i stated above by mistake
