Elitebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

i connected my new Elitebook 850G8 to my Thunderbold Dock G2 120W. On the DP outputs max. 1920x1080 can be choosen, But the 24" Displays all have the native 1920x1200. Funny: On the VGA Output on the dock the 1920x1200 resolution is correctly chosen, on the second display on the DP port max. 1920x1080 (and 1680x1050 suggested).

What i have tried so far:

  • Update Firmware Dock / NB
  • Update/Downgrade to different Intel GFX drivers (HP / Intel)
  • Change DP cable
  • Different display
  • Changed Bios Settings in BIOS Thunderbolt related
  • Same Display connected directly to the NB HDMI Port: 1920x1200
  • Older Elitebook 850G5 connected to the same dock: 1920x1200.

Any ideas?

Hello

I'm pretty sure you can connect up two 4K displays on TB Dock G2 using an 850 G8 but in that case each monitor must be connected an a different DP channel.

I don't have at home any 1920x1200 monitor to try with mine 840 G8, where currenlty I have installed Windows 11.

but I can try with 4K monitors if for you it make sense.

is your 850 G8 with Intel Graphics card or Nvidia ?

bye

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately with only one 1920x1200 monitor connected over the Dock the max. resolution is still 1920x1080.

The gfx is an Intel XE.

Thanks & Regards
