HP ZBook Studio G3 Mobile Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

The issue is following: ZBook G3 won`t wake up from sleep by using external keyboard or mouse. I`ve installed latest BIOS (Dec 5 2023) and all Win10 latest update.

In BIOS there is no checkbox 'wake up on USB' or smth.

Also, for some reason, checkbox wake up on AC detection is greyed out in OFF state.

Any suggestions?

I`m using external USB mouse and keyboard and want to use those to wake the laptop without taking it out and using power button or opening the lid.

P.S. I`ve tried every method related to changing WIN settings for power management - no success.

Thank you in advance.

Hello.

The "Power on when AC detected" problem is due to Power Control setting elsewhere in BIOS settings.

Check the Windows Device Manager for the corresponding mouse and keyboard and their properties. If they have a Power Management tab, there should be a selection named "Allow the device to wake the computer". Select it and hope for the best.

If that does not work, then you are out of options unless you could automate some network connected device to send Wake-On-Lan magic packages to your Zbook. 🤔
