Error Description:

Audio in (mic) and Audio out (earphone) port on dock not working. In windows sound settings audio in and out does not appear, when a mic/earphone is plugged into the dock, only notebook speaker can be choosen.

 

But the audio port plays sound, though the notebook speaker is choosen. The notebook speaker cannot play sound when docked and a earphone is plugged into the dock.

 

In the Bang and Olufsen tool, line in is activated, when a mic is plugged in. But the mic port on the dock is completely not working.

 

When a headset is plugged directly into the notebook (even when its docked) everything works as it should: A second audio out/in device appears, which can be choosen in windows sound settings.


Tested devices and drivers:

HP Elitebook 840 G3

HP Elitebook 840 G4

Windows 10 64 bit

Connexant 9.0.239.70 (delivered from windows update)

Connexant 9.0.239.40 (from HP)

Connexant 9.0.230.1 (from HP)

Connexant 9.0.136.1 (from HP)


Error Cause:

Probably wrong port routing in connexant audio driver


Solution:

Fixed connexant driver is needed. For linux there is already a fix existent.
