Hi guys, recently became the owner of HP 640 G1 (took away from work). I wanted to know whether this laptop will work with the processor I7-4700mq, whether the power supply system is enough.

@deniskaX

For Business machines, HP normally gives more freedom to upgrade but to be sure is to be sure, please use the following list

  • Intel® Core™ i7-4702M with Intel HD Graphics 4600 (2.2 GHz, up to 3.2 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 6 MB cache, 4 cores);
  • Intel® Core™ i7-4610M with Intel HD Graphics 4600 (3 GHz, up to 3.7 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 4 MB cache, 2 cores);
  • Intel® Core™ i5-4310M with Intel HD Graphics 4600 (2.7 GHz, up to 3.4 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 3 MB cache, 2 cores);
  • Intel® Core™ i5-4210M with Intel HD Graphics 4600 (2.6 GHz, up to 3.2 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 3 MB cache, 2 cores);
  • Intel® Core™ i3-4000M with Intel HD Graphics 4600 (2.4 GHz, 3 MB cache, 2 cores);
  • Intel® Celeron® 2950M with Intel HD Graphics (2 GHz, 2 MB cache, 2 cores)

Regards.

thanks for the interesting answer, I am familiar with this list, but the processor I7-4702mq (TDP 37 Wat) is difficult to get. The I7-4700mq (TDP 47 Wat) in Russia is easily accessible but confuses the 10 What difference.

1.Will the power supply module

2. to cope whether the cooling system

3. will the BIOS understand this processor.

Comrades, if anyone knows about the possibility of installing i7-4700mq (SR 15 H) TTP 47 what, please do not hold back and give comments. Mainly interested in BIOS support and whether the power system can withstand. The issue with the cooling I think will decide.
