Product: HP 8730w
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP

Hello, I bought in a flea market HP 8730w laptop that does not have any RAM and HDD. I put Western Digital 320GB HDD and 2GB RAM, but can not set the boot order is because it asks BIOS password. Can someone help me with advice on resetting this password? Thanks.

Hi:

 

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

 

That was the only way it could be done.
