HP 8770W EliteBook 17"
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Windows Device Manager does not tell which graphics adapter this notebook uses. The choice is AMD or Nvidia, and of those, there are several selections. BIOS says the video BIOS is ATI. How do I find out which graphics adapter is installed? Or should I download and instal HP's SoftPaq utility and let it decide?

Hi:

If the BIOS is reporting an AMD graphics adapter, then that is what you have.

It should be the AMD FirePro™ M4000.

Thanks for your reply, Paul. BIOS did not report it, however, I found the chipset: desktop > resolution > advanced properties. It is AMD, and this is where it reported the BIOS and memory. I downloaded the AMD driver.
