HP Elite Book 840G Windows 10 display problems with HP USB-C Travel Hub TPA-A601H

Hi, my work notebook is EliteBook840G running 64-bit Windows10.


I purchased USB-C Travel Hub TPA-A601H.


When connected, I get a message that "Display ports might be limited", clicking on it brings me to this MS support article:


Neither the VGA, nor the HDMI ports work in fact.


The following t-shoot this far produced no change:


1. I upgraded the Firmware with the one available on your website:


2. I am now using the power input on the device (just in case it needed the external power source.


Additional t-shoot data:

Connecting the monitor that is not working directly to the laptop VGA port makes it work, so it is not a display problem.


Is there anything I can do about it?

Is this a compatibility problem between HP devices by any odd chance?
