I reverted back to hp provided latest driver. I haven't faced any freezes. Though I haven't run heavy videos after installing it. The issue could a
Lso be from windows updates, nobody knows. For now it is fixed, maybe.

No it didn't. I was too quick to judge. The issue remains and hp takes no action regarding the issue. Such poor support. Pathetic. The last driver they provided was in February. It's been almost 8 months and no new update. Elitebooks are not so elite after all😏

I agree with you, I've been having issues with all drivers including the latest AMD (31.021031.1005 from 8/24/2023). I'm still having freezing issues. I have identified a workaround though: I've never had issues if I disable hardware acceleration. In Chrome, when the "Use hardware acceleration when available" box us uncheck in settings, my video never freezes, glitches or goes black.
I wish I could debug this further, and see where and why the GPU is failing when video decompression is enabled.

New driver update from hp has arrived. Even though release date is mentioned as September 7, I am 100% sure that it was uploaded yesterday on their site but it was uploaded to other sources ( I was notified about it on driver identifier) earlier.
Anyways, after installing this version I can see smooth cursor movement on the desktop. previously it was laggy. Maybe other issues has been fixed too.

After some meetings with HP in the US and AMD the issue was related to our LCD Panels. Our Panels do not support Panel Self Refresh (PSR) features.
HP released a new AMD driver that accounts for LCD panels that support or not support PSR .
The recommendation is to use the new HP AMD software.

Hi everybody,
As I am one of many who faces the same/similar issue. Currently I've the AMD graphics driver version 31.0.22011.4008 installed and it seems to be stable as I can't reproduce the issue anymore.
Does anyone else have experience with that graphics driver version?
Thx!
Cheers,
Sani
