HP Elitebook 8460p sound suddenly stopped working after rewinding video backwards

In the input for headphones I had plugged in Koss Pro 4AAT headphones.

I rewinded the video backwards by 5 seconds using the left arrow key on the keyboard on laptop. A stronger crack was heard in the headphones. The video rewinded it self backwards with short lag (like 1 second) and started playing as expected. But there was no sound anymore.

I unplugged the headphones out of the jack. The laptop did not identify unpluging the headphones from the output jack and did not start playing the sound from the built-in speaker of the laptop.

Restart of the OS did not help.

I tested using different headphones pluging into the jack of the laptop - no sound.

I tested pairing the laptop with bluetooth speaker using the bluetooth of the laptop - sound worked.

After unpairing the bluetooth speaker with the laptop - no sound.

When I plugged some other devices able to play the sound of the laptop to headphones output of the laptop I heard two cracks and weak whistle inbetween, but no sound, only hearable buzz. It goes like this: crack, whistle, crack and constant buzz (while slowly pluging in the jack of the device into the laptop output). The same is happening while unpluging the device. 

PLEASE FLAG THIS TO SOLVED

Solution: Turning off the laptop completely.

* Unpluged the AC source,

* removed all devices connected to the laptop,

* removed the battery of the laptop,

* waited for couple of seconds

* pluged in the battery back,

* started laptop and the sound was working again.
