HP Envy x360 (AMD) terrible battery life

HP Recommended
HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13-ag0002ns
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought one of these laptops around a year ago for classes, and just now have decided to finally ask someone for help about this. At first it was fine until I started noticing terrible battery life almost a week later. I usually write essays and take notes in classes and I get around 4 hours in chrome browsing and writing in word. This is unacceptable, as I need the laptop for the full 8 hours, and I can't bring my charger as my backpack is usually full.

I have tried every fix that support have sent to other people with the same problem, but absolutely none of them worked. I simply can't do anything, as the time the store gave me to return it is over.

Please, if someone knows how to fix this then tell me how, because I've tried anything and nothing has worked, and I can't afford a new laptop as I want a good performer and those are expensive.

@DavidSoup
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Have you tried running battery test?

If the battery is gone bad or not holding a charge that means the battery needs to be checked.

Click here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00259897#targetText=Remove%20the%20notebook%20battery%20and,s... to troubleshoot battery related issue. Battery Does Not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge.

(Refer to the step: Test the AC adapter and Battery using the UEFI Hardware Diagnostic tests)

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
