HP Elitebook 1040 G4/Thunderbolt Dock G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The issue I'm having is with the HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 and the Elitebook 1040 G4.  When I power up the laptop with the dock's power button and then shut down the laptop through the Shut down function in the windows Start menu, unplugging the dock cable will cause the laptop to turn on again.  Any slight movement of the cable will cause the laptop to turn on.

But if I turn on the laptop with the power button on the laptop and follow the same procedure, disconnecting the dock cable will not cause the laptop to reboot again.

I have disabled so many things in the Bios such as fast boot, usb charging, boot when ac is detected, and a whole bunch of other things but the issue persists.  I'm not sure if the issue lies with the laptop or with the dock.  I'm thinking maybe a firmware update to either the laptop or the dock might fix the issue.  I'm in the process of sending the laptop to get checked out by HP repair to make sure it's not a hardware issue.  Anyone out there have a similar problem?
