Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP EliteBook 840 G8 and a USB C G5 Docking Station.  I have two external monitors attached to the docking station, one via the display port and one via HDMI.  If I close the lid on the laptop the 2nd display will come active; however, when I open the lid on the laptop the 2nd displays goes inactive and the laptop display is active.  I would like to have all three (3) active at one time.  How can I use both external displays and the laptop display all at the same time using the USB C G5 docking station.
