I have performed a clean install of Windows 11 Professional on the HP ZBook Studio G5. While the installation finishes successfully, and I'm able to create a Windows account, it's not possible to reach the logon screen after rebooting the laptop. The lock screen with date & time is visible, but it cannot be dismissed.
Safe mode is working fine, but regular mode is not. I have repeated the procedure several times, with the same result. Note that I have not installed any software.
I believe the issue is related to Windows Hello, meaning that Windows 11 fails to use the built-in hardware in that laptop and hence fails to dismiss the lock screen.
Has anyone successfully installed Windows 11 on that model? HP lists it as compatible, but this is not my experience.

After a lot of investigation, I was able to determine that this is due to the driver "HID Sensor Collection V2". There are three instances of devices using this driver, and it's the one with device instance path "HID\VID_8087&PID_0AC3\6&39ECBB02&0&0000" that is causing the issue. Apparently, this driver is used for reading thermal information.
Windows 11 installs driver version 10.0.22621.1635 by Microsoft, dated 2009-04-21. I could not find any newer version. But anyway, I suspect that the problem should / could be fixed through a BIOS (UEFI) update.
Disabling this driver (the 3rd instance) prevents the >1 hour delay whenever the notebook is booted.
HP: please advise if there is a fix available.
