This should not be marked as a solution.  It is  just a re-hash of everything in this thread.  Even with everything current I am having issues with USB ports becoming unresponsive, displays not functioning, power not being passed through the dock, and blue screens.

Yes; I completely agree here with QQOP and the others - While verson 1.09 has been the most workable - I would not say this issue is resolved.

The intermitant drops in usb/ethernet/display is still very much an issue.

Also the amount of time to come this far and still not have a solution is unacceptable.

I've had this thing since May 1st however it has not yet reached a point of reliabilty that is expected with a product that is being sold as business solution and at its price point. My company has held off deploying these as result of my issues and is seriously considering other manufactures aside from HP due to the lack of progress on this product's issues.

Personally; I will never buy an HP product for my own non-business use after the experience I've had over the last 3 months with a product that was sold as "top of the line."

Hey everybody,

We have investigated the issue you all have shared and have confirmed an issue with BIOS 1.13 for Zbook Studio and 1.10 for Zbook 15 and Zbook 17.  We recommend that you use BIOS 1.12 for Studio and 1.09 for 15/17.  Both these BIOS are at HP support site as previous BIOS.  Links to them are below:

Studio 1.12 BIOS: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=8934841&swItemId=ob_170229_1&swEnvOid=419...

Zbook 15/17 1.09 BIOS: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=8693774&swItemId=ob_169346_1&swEnvOid=419...

We will let you know when the next BIOS release is ready to use.

Gone back to 1.12 and issues with the Plantronics USB wireless headset are still there. Best case scenario no USB ports seem to work and worst case scenario BSOD preceeded by "Windows has detected that Audio Enhancements are giving problems with Plantronics... and has disabled them." BTW - I am on Windows 10 Enterprise 1607, which may be compounding the issue. However, this same Plantronics USB headset doesnt work even when connected directly to the laptop.

Fixed the Plantronics connection directly to the laptop - had to reinstall Conexant Audio Drivers. Once everything was working directly on the laptop I shutdown the ZBook Studio, connected the TB3 dock and switched on the laptop again. Once Windows 10 was up, reconnected the Plantronics to the dock and everything wroke again and lost all audio. Had to end up disconnecting Plantronics from dock and reinstall Conexant drivers once again. Will not try again, this is very tiresome.

I am going to interject and mention one thing. do not ever update the bios on this board. i am not even kidding. yesterday i had HP come out and replace my main board and i specifically asked them to bring me a bare-bone stock main board that has never been updated. the instant it was installed with the non-updated BIOS and firmware, it is now stable and the dock is staying connected without issue. Updates are not always a good thing. if your laptop is within the warranty window, request a main board swap of the device with a board that does not contain updates. this will allow you to upgrade and downgrade as needed to troubleshoot. i for one will never update, and i'm even in IT. i refuse to touch it now that its working. i do realize that not updating the BIOS poses a slight security risk, but if you have enough security in your environment to begin with, it really is a moot point. just a good thing to note here. 🙂
